Ansul R102 Fire Suppression System provides an automatic/manual fire detection and extinguishing system to protect cooking equipment, extract canopy and ductwork.
The basic system consists of an Ansul automan regulator release mechanism and a liquid storage tank housed within a single enclosure. Nozzles, detectors, cartridges, liquid agent, fusible links, pulley tees and elbows are supplied as needed for each individual application.
The R102 system suppresses fire by spraying at the plenum area and filters, cooking surfaces and exhaust duct system with a predetermined flow rate of Ansulex liquid. When the liquid is discharged on a cooking appliance fire, it cools the grease surface and reacts with the grease (saponification) forming a soap like foam on the surface of the fat. This layer acts as an insulation between the hot grease and the atmosphere, thus helping to prevent the escape of combustible vapour.
Standards
The system will be designed in accordance with NFPA standards 17, 17a and 96. the R192 system has been tested and is listed by Underwriters Laboratories Inc as UL300 a pre-engineered system.
